Irving Penn is a well-rounded photographer who shoots many styles of photography including: still life, portraits, fashion, and editorials. I chose to photograph his style of portraits because he has very moody photographs because he almost always chooses a black and white tone with highly contrasted aspects of the photograph.
The first image is one of his photographs and this is very strong because there is sharp focus, well contrasted tones, and placed into black and white.
For my photograph I made sure she wore a darker sweater to contrast the color of her face and the background sheet. The wrinkles are very emphasized in a sharp focus just like Irving Penns photographs.
